Buyer / Category Manager supporting Defence and Government Contracts.
Our client is a global specialist within Integrated Supply Chain Solutions. There is an opportunity to join them as a Buyer within the New Business team, working on Bids and Tenders for Defence and Government contracts while also supporting live contracts.
Procurement and supplier pricing is key to New Business tenders; as a Buyer / Category Manager you will identify, contact and manage relevant suppliers to negotiate prices, and understand their manufacturing practices and capabilities. You will support the New Business team through building a database of suppliers and prices across multiple categories.
To excel within the role you should have previous experience of managing multiple suppliers, preferably across multiple parts and equipment types. Identifying and negotiating with suppliers is key.
